American Family Association Teases Super-Secret Anti-Gay Tool

Tim Wildmon of the American Family Association

The American Family Association serves notice (in their year-end money beg) that they have developed a super-secret, “revolutionary” weapon to fight the gays.

Shhhh. It’s a secret!

From the American Family Association head Tim Wildmon:

“Early next year, AFA will launch a new project unlike any other in the pro-family movement. It’s been almost a year in the making and we’re just about ready to release it.

“Because atheists and homosexual activists will go all out to attack AFA and this revolutionary new tool for Christians and their families, I can’t go into much detail right now. But I can tell you that we have put an enormous amount of work and financial resources behind it.

“Your financial support couldn’t come at a more critical time. AFA is one of a handful of groups actually fighting back against the secularists and the humanists in an organized fashion and making a real difference. Won’t you please consider making a small contribution to help us continue our work?

“First, it’s tax-deductible. AFA is a 501c3 organization and depends entirely on friends like you to keep us going strong. Secondly, I want to send you a free gift as a way of saying thanks for your support. Please make your generous donation today!”

Texas Pastor Donnie Romero: “I’m Not Letting Any Dirty Faggots Inside My Church”

Pastor Donnie Romero, of Fort Worth, Texas, says that if he ever goes “soft on sin,” he hopes that his children will call him out and tell him to “get up there and rip on these queers because it’s only getting worse and worse.”

“I’m not going to let any of these dirty faggots inside my church,” Romero said. “They are all pedophiles … They’re always trying to rape and hurt other people. They’re relentless. They are relentless. They are predators and given an opportunity to snatch one of your children, they would do it in a heartbeat.”

Incoming Texas Attorney General Opposes LGBT Protections In Proposed Plano Ordinance

In an open letter, incoming Texas Attorney General-elect Ken Paxton has asks the Plano City Council to rethink their consideration of an LGBT protections ordinance up for discussion at tonight’s meeting.

From Paxton’s letter:

Honorable Mayor and City Council: As members of the Plano delegation to the Texas legislature and the Collin County Commissioners Court, we are appealing to you to postpone any vote relating to an ordinance to amend Section 2-11 relating to the adoption of a policy based on protected characteristics. We do not believe there has been adequate time for the public and community leaders to be a part of the discussion of such a major, wide sweeping change in law and policy for Plano. As husbands and wives with children, we have concerns that your sexual orientation and transgender ordinance may place women and children at risk and does not consider the moral or religious beliefs of Plano citizens or vendors who do business with the city.

Creating “special protections” for gays and “men in women’s bathrooms” are all included in Paxton’s worries and concerns over the proposed LGBT focused ordinance.
Of course, all the hand wringing in done in the name of “religious freedom.”

Stay tuned to see if tonight’s vote even takes place.

Arizona Pastor Steven Anderson Doubles Down On ‘Execute The Gays To Cure AIDS’ Hate Speech

Arizona Baptist pastor Steven Anderson — who called for the mass execution of gays in a recent sermon in order to have an “AIDS-free world by Christmas” — doubled down on his virulently anti-gay stance in this interview with Arizona television anchor Mark Curtis.

“What you have to understand is that the Bible commands that certain people be put to death. Not by me, not by Christians — it’s obviously not my job or the job of any Christian to go out and kill anybody — and I’ve never taught anything like that. But rather, that the government’s job is to punish criminals and to execute those who committed capital crimes. And according to the Bible, homosexuality is a capital crime. And I didn’t write the Bible.”

The interview was due to the reaction from Anderson’s November 30th sermon where he said this:

“It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant,” he added. “It wouldn’t be totally AIDS-free, but we’d be like 90-some percent AIDS-free by Christmas if we follow this.”

Note: Anderson’s Faithful Word Baptist Church has been certified as an anti-LGBT hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Slovakia To Hold National Referendum On Same-Sex Marriage

Earlier this year in June, Slovakia passed a anti-gay constitutional ban on same-sex marriage by a vote of 102-18.

Now, it appears the country’s lawmakers aren’t done making their LGBT citizens second class. Now, the legislators plan a national voter referendum on marriage equality and more on February 7, 2015.

Via the AP:

President Andrej Kiska’s move comes after the Alliance for Family conservative group gathered about 400,000 signatures supporting the vote.

Slovaks will be asked whether they agree that a marriage can be called only a union between a man and a woman, same-sex partners can’t adopt children, and that children wouldn’t have to attend school classes on sex education if their parents don’t agree with them.

Slovakia’s constitutional court ruled last month at Kiska’s request that such a referendum doesn’t violate the constitution, but rejected a question on registered partnership as part of the vote. Kiska said he still has doubts about the referendum, but respected the ruling.

Slovakia, a young country of only 21 years, has held seven similar voter referenda. For passage, more than 50% of the nations voter have to cast a vote. In 21 years, it has only happened once – when the country voted to join the European Union. The others failed to become legal due to low voter turnout.

So, it’s possible this anti-gay move may be more anti-LGBT political theater than reality.

We shall see come February.

Arkansas Anti-Gay Leader Super Mad Over The “Tyranny” Of Equal Rights For Gays

Jerry Cox

The head of the anti-gay Arkansas Family Council, Jerry Cox, is super-mad about yesterday’s ruling by a federal judge which struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.

Via press release:

“This is another example of judicial tyranny.

“Arkansans voted overwhelmingly to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Their elected officials voted for that definition when they passed Arkansas’ Defense of Marriage Act.

“By issuing this ruling, one federal judge is saying seventy-five percent of Arkansas voters and lawmakers do not matter. If that isn’t tyranny, I don’t know what is.

“What Judge Baker effectively did was erase Arkansas’ definition of marriage. It opens the door for marriage to become anything. We have already seen polygamists in Utah and elsewhere try to ride the coat tails of same-sex marriage activists in court. Rulings like this one only fuel those efforts.

“If Americans are not free to decide how they will define something as basic as marriage, then what are they free to decide?”

I love the line – “If that isn’t tyranny, I don’t know what is.”

Seriously? Letting people who love each other marry is YOUR definition of “tyranny?”

Pal, you need to get out in the world more. There’s lots worse than equal rights for everyone.

ISIS Reportedly Executes Two Gay Men By Stoning To Death

MSNBC is reporting that ISIS has apparently stoned to death two men alleged to be gay:

The Islamic State group stoned two men to death in Syria Tuesday after claiming they were gay, a monitor said, in the jihadist organisation’s first executions for alleged homosexuality.

“The IS today stoned to death a man that it said was gay,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, adding that the victim was around 20 years old. He was killed in Mayadeen in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor, near the border with Iraq.

The Britain-based Observatory said IS claimed it found videos on his mobile phone showing him “practising indecent acts with males”.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, an 18-year-old was also stoned to death in Deir Ezzor city after the group said he was gay, the Observatory said.

Activists on social media said that the dead men were opponents of IS and that the group had used the allegation as a pretext to kill them.

Uganda Prepares To Pass New Anti-Gay Law As “Christmas Gift” To The Country

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni

Calling the law a “Christmas gift” for the country, Ugandan legislators are set to pass a new version of the country’s recently struck down anti-gay law:

Drafters of a revised anti-gay law want parliament to pass it in time to be a “Christmas gift” for Ugandans, a lawmaker said on Friday, after a controversial earlier version was quashed because of legal technicalities.

Legislation passed by parliament almost a year ago, which would have punished gay sex with long prison terms, provoked a storm of international protest and led some donor countries to withhold aid. A constitutional court overturned the law in August.

Abdu Latif Ssebagala, a member of a parliamentary committee formed in September to draft a new version, said it had finished the bill and was ready to present it to parliament for debate.

In August, President Yoweri Museveni said he wanted the law amended to remove penalties for consenting adults. Ssebagala said however the new version still punished gay sex among consenting adults.

In October the president wrote in a newspaper that re-introducing the law risked triggering a trade boycott by the West.
