ABC’s hit drama series “9-1-1” returns tonight with the premiere of Season 9, and from the look of the official trailer, things get pretty “out there” fast.
“Out there” as in “outer space” out there.
After saving the life of billionaire Tripp Hauser (Mark Consuelos), who is swallowed by a whale while kayaking, Hen (Aisha Hinds) is invited to join Hauser’s next mission into space.
Athena (the fabulous Angela Bassett) joins Hen on the trip, which of course doesn’t go as planned when a geomagnetic storm strikes, raining meteors down to Earth.
Plus, we get to find out what’s next in the ‘Buddie’ storyline between romantic besties Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman).
I don’t watch a lot of network TV as it can sometimes feel formulaic compared to more adventurous fare on streaming platforms, but “9-1-1” has become a favorite for me.
