“Maskless Obama” is trending on Twitter this morning as photos and video clips from President Obama’s 60th birthday party, held outdoors in Martha’s Vineyard, show folks not wearing masks. The far-right believe they have some sort of ‘gotcha’ moment, except… According to several news sources, all guests were to be tested for the coronavirus and advised to be fully vaccinated before attending. The event was held outdoors following all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public health protocols:
If you are fully vaccinated, you can participate in many of the activities that you did before the pandemic.
To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.
The county that includes the Vineyard is hardly a viral hot zone, recording only 21 cases in the past two weeks. Less than 0.1% of vaccinated Americans have tested positive for COVID-19. Maskless Obama was also vaccinated Obama and all of his guests are vaccinated and tested at the door before coming inside.
