Texas Judge Bans Abortion Pills Nationwide

Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump-appointee in Texas just halted the F.D.A.’s 23-year-old approval of the abortion pill mifepristone in every state, making their distribution illegal in a week. And then less than an hour later, Judge Thomas O. Tennessee lawmakers have introduced their own "Don't Say Gay" legislation which would prohibit discussion of LGBTQ topics on any level in schools. Some news stories you might have missed: • New York Times: The Tennessee House, where Republicans have a super-majority, voted to expel two Democrats from the state legislature a week after they joined protesters in a call for stricter gun laws in the wake of a shooting that left six dead at a Christian school. Supreme Court Rejects West Virginia’s Request To Enforce Anti-Trans Law

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected West Virginia’s request that it be allowed to enforce its anti-transgender sports ban against Becky Pepper-Jackson, a 12-year-old transgender girl who is a member of her school’s cross-country team.

Ben Shapiro Melts down Over New RuPaul Build-A-Bear

Ben Shapiro had a meltdown after Build-A-Bear introduced a new RuPaul teddy bear in the company's 18 and over website.

Last week, Build-A-Bear announced a new collaboration with RuPaul for a new line of RuPaul bears for their 18+ website, The Bear Cave. Even though the drag bears are specifically listed as being for the store’s 18 and older customers (complete with age acknowledgment required for access), anti-LGBTQ far-right commentator Ben Shapiro had a meltdown over the news.
