Thomas F. Sibick, 37, was sentenced to 50 months in prison for assaulting Capitol Police officer Michael Fanone at the violent January 6, 2021, invasion of the U.S. Capitol building. Following his prison sentence, Sibick will also serve 36 months of supervised release, and be required to pay $7,500.79 in restitution. NJ Family Reaches $9.1 Million Settlement After Bullying Led To Daughter’s Suicide

In 2017, the parent’s of 12-year-old Mallory Grossman met with their daughter’s school officials about incessant bullying of Mallory. But school officials failed to address the parents’ concerns about the ongoing bullying. Hours after that meeting, Mallory took her own life at home. Six years later, the Grossmans have agreed to a $9.1 million settlement with the school district for its failure to protect Mallory. Mother Drives 8 Hours To Keep Son’s Gender-Affirming Care On Track

I write a lot about the hideous anti-transgender laws that have been and continue to be passed across the country. And I know regular readers understand the impact bans on gender-affirming care are having. But I highly recommend reading this very well-written report by award-winning writer Casey Parks for the Washington Post about a mother in Mississippi who had to drive her 17-year-old son 8 hours to another state just to fill a testosterone prescription.
