| Vice President Mike Pence (L) and Donald Trump (R) |
Just one more horrible thing to learn about Donald Trump.
Last week, folks were quoting an article at The Atlantic by Mckay Coppins wherein Donald Trump was quoted as saying Vice President Mike Pence wants to “hang” all the gays.
But what didn’t get hardly any attention was the next paragraph where a White House adviser shared that Trump was embarrassed that Pence brought his family pets with him to Washington, D.C.
Apparently, Donald Trump thinks having pets is “low class.”
When it was reported last January that the Pences would be moving some of their family pets—which include two cats, a rabbit, and a snake—into the Naval Observatory, Trump ridiculed the menagerie to his secretary, according to a longtime adviser. “He was embarrassed by it; he thought it was so low class,” says the adviser. “He thinks the Pences are yokels.”
Pence bringing pets to DC actually humanizes him. The fact that Trump thinks pets are “low-class” tells you a lot about how empty he is inside.— KE (@Kim585) December 6, 2017
Trump can’t have pets because they die when you spray paint them gold.— Mrs Columbo (@lrslippers) December 6, 2017
I have had pets…including some that were not even mammals…that would have been better presidents than Trump…and every single one would have brought more class to the White House than he has. https://t.co/sHGioMA6TO— David Rothkopf (@djrothkopf) December 6, 2017

From the Pulitzer Prize winning fact-check website, PolitiFact:
A mountain of evidence points to a single fact: Russia meddled in the U.S. presidential election of 2016.
In both classified and public reports, U.S. intelligence agencies have said Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered actions to interfere with the election.
Those actions included the cyber-theft of private data, the placement of propaganda against particular candidates, and an overall effort to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process.
Trump continually asserts that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election is fake news, a hoax or a made-up story, even though there is widespread, bipartisan evidence to the contrary.
When the nation’s commander-in-chief refuses to acknowledge a threat to U.S. democracy, it makes it all the more difficult to address the problem. For this reason, we name Trump’s claim that the Russia interference is a hoax as our Lie of the Year for 2017.

In today’s Trump Twitter rant, President Cheeto goes after Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York after Gillibrand joined the chorus of senators calling for Trump’s resignation over allegations of sexual misconduct.
Wrote Trump, “Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!”
Gillibrand didn’t miss a beat firing back her own missive: “You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office.”

You are afraid of powerful women, and Kristen Gillibrand is no different. You are afraid of her power, and her ability to expose you for who you really are: a CREEP!— Ed Krassenstein (@EdKrassen) December 12, 2017
A federal judge has denied the Trump administration’s request to bar transgender folks from enlisting in the U.S. military which means the Pentagon will have to allow trans recruits beginning January 1.
From LGBTQ Nation:
U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ruled against overturning her ruling, delivered back in October, that trans people should be able to enlist at the start of the year, despite an ongoing legal battle.
Kollar-Kotelly was one of two federal judges to rule against the ban, the most recent of which also prohibits the federal government from refusing to cover health costs associated with gender confirmation surgery.
On the same day as the second ruling against them, the Trump administration asked for clarification on Kollar-Kotelly’s ruling. Was she really saying they couldn’t delay trans soldiers from enlisting while the legal battle raged on, and while the Defense Department reviews the issue? Why, yes. Yes she was.
Even that wasn’t enough for them, however. They tried one last time to block trans people, filing for an emergency stay against Kollar-Kotelly’s ruling.
Today’s ruling means the military has no choice but to begin allowing trans people to join the military, but doing so won’t be easy.
As the Associated Press reports, “the Pentagon can disqualify potential recruits with gender dysphoria, a history of medical treatments associated with gender transition and those who underwent reconstruction. But such recruits are allowed in if a medical provider certifies they’ve been clinically stable in the preferred sex for 18 months and are free of significant distress or impairment in social, occupational or other important areas.”
Individuals on hormone therapy will have to be stable on their medication for 18 months.

“Liberal Redneck” Trae Crowder is looking ahead to tomorrow’s special election in Alabama to replace now-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and like usual, he gets right to the heart of the matter.
Just a bit from Crowder
“The people of Alabama’s choices are Democrat Doug Jones, and a poorly written villain from a fucking Dukes of Hazzard episode.
“Seriously y’all, even when you take into account that the man that they’re replacing is a f**king Hobbit from an alternate universe where JRR Tolkien owns slaves, Roy Moore is an unbelievable bag of sh*t.
“He’s a judge who’s been kicked off the bench twice for refusing to do his job, he’s taken money from his own non-profit, he’s openly admitted that he thinks the last time America was great was before the Civil War, he thinks all legislation should be drafted by Jesus, and he presumably believes that the Devil invented dinosaurs and gay people.”
Watch below.
Speaking to CNN today, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham lamented Alabama Republican Roy Moore’s candidacy for the U.S. Senate wishing the controversial former judge had stepped aside amid multiple allegations of sexual impropriety.
“Roy Moore will be the gift that keeps on giving for Democrats. To think you can elect Roy Moore without getting the baggage of Roy Moore is pretty naive. I wish he would have stepped aside. We’ll see what the people of Alabama decide.”
