Some news items you might have missed:
• Cincinnati Enquirer: Gov. Mike DeWine (R) decided that state lawmakers went too far in the culture war against LGBTQ Ohioans and vetoed 3 provisions that would have: defunded homeless shelters that support trans kids, hid LGBTQ books from school students, and banned Pride flags.
• Outsports: Three-time Olympic gold medalist speed skater Martina Sablikova came out publicly revealing her 12-year same-sex relationship.

• amNewYork: Members of NYC’s Gay Officer’s Action League say they were excluded from marching in Sunday’s Pride Parade. But the parade organizers say the officers insisted on marching with their guns, which would violate the organizers rules on weapons.
• Boy Culture: Meet Swann Levigne of France, the newly-crowned “Mister Supranational” (which I just learned of today). The competition’s aim is “to discover new talent for the modeling and television industries and to produce instant celebrities.”
• NBC News: Iowa has become the first state to remove gender identity from its civil rights code, meaning trans and nonbinary residents are no longer protected from discrimination in their job, housing and other aspects of life.
• The Daily Sentinel: A U.S. postal worker in Western Colorado decided she would prove Donald Trump’s claim that mail-in ballots could easily be faked. So she stole 19 ballots, forged signatures, and mailed them in. She was just sentenced to 5 years in prison. Oh – and 18 of the 19 forged ballots were detected as fakes by the verification system.
• JoeMyGod: Disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) is still ranting on X even though he promised to quit the platform back in May.
