The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus returned to the American Choral Directors Association stage in late February as an invited headliner, marking its first appearance with the organization in more than 40 years.
Back in 1984, organizers had censored the word “Gay” from the group’s official name in the program. There’s been bad blood ever since.

Elevating the moment further, Grammy winner Scott Hoying of Pentatonix fame wrote an original song, “Never Go Away,” and performed with the group.
