According to TMZ, Nike is prepared to drop professional boxer Manny Paquaio over his recent “gays are worse than animals” comment.
“Have you seen any animal having male-to-male or female-to-female
relations?” Pacquiao said on a Filipino television station earlier this
week. “If you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships],
then people are worse than animals.”
Pacquaio later issued an apology.
The two sides have had a relationship since at least 2006 — but we’re told Nike is particularly disturbed after Pacquiao said gay people are “worse than animals” … and intend to drop the boxer for good.
We’re told the move is not official yet — but there have been multiple discussions and we’re told it appears to be heading in that direction.
Paquaio’s management has not responded to requests for comment.
