• Pink News: As she heads into the finals of Dancing on Ice, UK drag star The Vivienne, who opened up the world of drag to a whole new British audience when she won the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK back in 2019, reflects on the rapidly worsening situation for queens.
“I never went on the show to be this huge gimmick act. We always wanted the main focus of it to be skating. This has suddenly become more than a skating competition. It’s become a statement for our community, to show the world that we are just having fun.”
• Back2Stonewall: Lawmakers in the Kentucky Senate are jumping on the bandwagon as they approved legislation on a 26-6 vote that would severely curtail drag performances in the state.
• Queerty: In advance of tomorrow night’s Academy Awards, check out this list of LGBTQ songwriters who have scored an Oscar for Best Original Song. Of the hundreds of nominations in the category, only 11 of the winners publicly identified as LGBTQ.
• Denver Post: Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who opposes reproductive rights and sex education, said her unmarried 17-year-old son is going to become a father next month. When asked how old her son’s girlfriend is, she would only say she’s “over the age of 14.”
