Music Video: Doechii Copes With Chaos “Anxiety”

Out rapper and singer Doechii overcomes chaos in the music video for her breakout hit “Anxiety.” There’s a terrific visual symbiosis between the visual and the track, which samples Gotye and Kimbra’s early-2010s classic “Somebody That I Used to Know.” Much of the time, I lean towards music videos that focus primarily on the song. But the ongoing choreographed chaos brought to life here (burglars crashing through windows, kitchen fires, The Shining-style twins, a street-walking elephant and frenetic flash dance) pairs perfectly with “Anxiety,” which has an unexpected chill undertow musically. I like. “Anxiety” recently became Doechii’s first single to break into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
