Lawsuit Alleges FBI Director Fired Bureau Officials For ‘Political Retribution’

A federal lawsuit has been filed against FBI Director Kash Patel (above) and Attorney General Pam Bondi by former acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll and two other fired FBI officials who claim they were the targets of “politically motivated retribution.”

The lawsuit cites several alleged conversations involving Patel and other Trump advisers that, if true, indicate the former employees were dismissed under orders from the White House and that Patel followed through to keep his job.

From MSNBC:

“Patel stated that all FBI employees who they identified who had worked on the cases against President Trump would be removed from their jobs, regardless of their retirement eligibility status,” the lawsuit says in describing Driscoll’s account of a conversation with the FBI director.

“He then stated that Driscoll needed to understand that ‘the FBI tried to put the president in jail and he hasn’t forgotten it.’”

Patel “stated that his own job depended on the removal of the agents who worked on the cases against the President, regardless of whether the agents chose to work on those cases or not,” the lawsuit says.

All three plaintiffs say, after years of exemplary service, they were not even given a chance to retire early and in order to claim a portion of their pension.

You may recall that Patel, during his Senate confirmation hearings in January, was adamant that he wouldn’t fire FBI employees for political reasons.
