Lady Gaga At The Grammy Awards: “Trans People Deserve Love”

Lady Gaga spoke out  in support of the LGBTQ community at the Grammy Awards last night after scoring the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award with Bruno Mars. “It is a privilege to be a songwriter and a producer, a musician, such an honor to sing for all of you,” said the pop star as she accepted the award. “And I just want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love. Thank you.” Also –  Chappell Roan (who won the Best New Artist Grammy Award) defended the trans community on the red carpet before the event: “Trans people have always existed and will forever exist and they will never, no matter what happens, take trans joy away.” “I would not be here without trans girls,” she added. “So just know that I’m trying my best to stand up for you in every way that I can.”
