• AP News: A federal judge has ordered ICE to release 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos (above) and his father from the Texas center where they’ve been held by Tuesday after being detained by immigration officers in Minnesota.
• Queerty: A question on the AskGaybrosOver30 subreddit this week had older gays debating the issue of “aging gracefully” and the appropriate age to stop taking off your shirt in public. Regular readers of TRR know where I stand on this 🙂
• The Advocate: Journalist Don Lemon was defiant in his first remarks since being arrested for covering a protest at a St. Paul church in Minnesota.
• LGBTQ Nation: A 47-year-old Colorado man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleaded guilty to trying to kill two lesbians he saw kissing on the street – “I drove at the women because I saw them kissing and they were lesbians and I wanted to kill them.”
• Erin in the Morning: Kansas state lawmakers have passed anti-transgender legislation that would not only ban entering a public restroom that deviates from one’s sex assigned at birth, but explicitly empowers citizen-vigilantes of any sex to interrogate unsuspecting members of the public about their genitals—and to receive a monetary reward for doing so.
• Washington Post: The White House stands about 70 feet tall. The Lincoln Memorial, roughly 100 feet. But the massive, 250-foot tall, tacky gold arch Donald Trump wants to build would eclipse both if he gets his wish. Architectural experts are concerned saying the scale of Trump’s arch would diminish some of the intent behind the surrounding memorials.
