Today, on the fourth (and previously final agreed to) day of the pause in fighting in Gaza, officials in Qatar say both sides have agreed to extend the pause by two days. https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1729174926727299375 From the Washington Post:

Under the deal, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, additional women and children would be released from captivity in the Gaza Strip each day in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

Earlier, Hamas said on Telegram that it is seeking an extension to “increase the number of those released from imprisonment.” Under the terms of the agreement, the pause could be extended by a day for every additional 10 hostages released by Hamas beyond the initial 50.

Hamas has released 58 hostages over the past three days, including Thai and Philippine nationals. Israel has released more than 100 imprisoned Palestinian women and teenagers in exchange.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters today President Biden was “deeply engaged” through Thanksgiving weekend on negotiations to extend the humanitarian pause in Gaza, speaking with the emir of Qatar at a “very critical moment” to help resolve an impasse. https://twitter.com/Victorshi2020/status/1729165394769048018
