Homeland Security Officers Drag U.S. Senator From Press Conference

The U.S. political sphere is all abuzz as Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) was physically removed from a press conference in LA today held by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

In the video clip being seen across social media, Padilla can clearly be heard identifying himself saying, “I am Senator Alex Padilla,” before he was shoved and removed from the room and forced to the ground and handcuffed.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) criticized the “manhandling of a United States senator,” adding he was “sickened” by the incident and demanded “immediate answers as to what the hell went on.”

Noem ran to Fox News where she lied saying Padilla “did not identify himself.”

“This man burst into the room, started lunging towards the podium, interrupting me and elevating his voice and was stopped, did not identify himself and was removed from the room,” Noem said.

Multiple House Democrats told Axios they’re increasingly worried about violence or arrest.
