Ghislaine Maxwell Quietly Moved To ‘Cushy’ TX Prison

Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s associate currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking charges, has been moved to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas.

Bureau of Prison guidelines indicate she would not be eligible for such a ‘cushy’ security facility.

From the Washington Post:

Attorney David Oscar Markus said she was moved to the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, about 95 miles northwest of Houston. He did not give a reason for the transfer, and the Justice Department declined to comment.

Bryan is among the facilities with the lowest level of security in the federal system, with limited or no perimeter fencing, dormitory-style housing and a relatively low staff-to-inmate ratio.

Based on her conviction and sentence, Maxwell is an unusual candidate to be transferred to a federal prison camp.

Bureau of Prison guidelines say that inmates who have more than 10 years remaining on their sentences are not typically eligible for a minimum-security facility.

The transfer comes just a week after Maxwell was interviewed by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as the Trump administration tries to stop the uproar over its decision to release no further information from the FBI’s Epstein files.

Many people say the move to a “cushy” prison was part of the deal for the interview with Deputy AG Blanche.

Maxwell has been subpoenaed to give testimony before Congress but she’s asked for immunity in order to testify, which the congressional committee overseeing her testimony rejected.

The 69-year-old has also asked the Supreme Court to overturn her conviction.
