First Lady Melania Trump took to social media this morning to call comedian Jimmy Kimmel a “coward” for his “corrosive” words.
Last Thursday, Kimmel described the first lady as an “expectant widow” during a skit about the White House Correspondents’ dinner.
In her social media post, Melania called for Kimmel’s network to “take a stand.”
“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.
“People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.
“Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”
Your husband mocked POWs, disabled reporters, immigrants, women, judges—but a late-night comedian is where you draw the line? The irony of calling someone hateful while defending a man who made cruelty his brand is unreal. Melania should stick to plagarizing Michelle Obama. pic.twitter.com/mDELCQ81xJ

This is the bit from last week that apparently set Melania off:

It’s worth noting that White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt made her own joke about “shots fired” shortly before the dinner on Saturday night. So, there’s that…

Speaking of “corrosive” and “hateful” words, I wonder how the First Lady felt about her husband’s language regarding the passing of Robert Mueller – who, in addition to his career with the Justice Department and the FBI, was a Marine veteran who received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart among other numerous medals.
Regular people are begging this administration to do anything to fix the job market, reduce costs, or improve their lives in any meaningful way, and these fuckers are spending all day attacking comedians like Jimmy Kimmel who make jokes they don’t like.

Melania asking for censorship while married to the loudest bully in politics is wild. The same people who laughed at “mean tweets” now need a safe space from late-night TV.
