Far-Right House GOP: Kill Debt Ceiling Deal, Crash Economy, Help Trump Win In 2024

U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) said the quiet part out loud today as he attacked the debt ceiling agreement brokered by President Joe Biden and Speaker Kevin McCarthy. What really burns Bishop’s butt is that the agreement says the nation’s debt limit will not have to be raised until 2025. But what the far-right Republicans wanted was to use the debt ceiling in 2024 to tank the economy in order to help Trump win. In the clip below, you can see Bishop – surrounded by fellow far-right Republicans – rant about the agreement.

“And what does the device of two years do? It removes the issue from the national conversation during the presidential election to come. How could you more successfully kneecap any Republican President than to take that issue out of his or her hands?”
