Some news stories you might have missed:
• Pink News: North Carolina’s Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R) has been criticized for falsely claiming “clinics” are performing gender-affirming surgery on five-year-old children. This does not happen.
• HBO Max: The new documentary Love to Love You, Donna Summer is an intimate portrait of the Queen of Disco exploring the highs and lows of fame, offering an insider’s view of the artist’s life on and off stage. Premieres tonight at 8pm on HBO Max.
• The Advocate: Nebraska lawmakers have passed legislation that bans gender-confirmation surgery for minors (which never happens), and also allows Nebraska’s chief medical officer to regulate the use of puberty blockers and hormones.
• Texas Tribune: The Texas House opted not to meet today meaning several bills needing to be approved out of committees have died including Senate Bill 1601, which would have barred libraries from receiving any public money for events in which drag performers read to kids.
• Out Movies: In the forthcoming drama The Neighbor, an intense love story between two young men forms from a harrowing incident they are involved in. From that moment on nothing will be like it used to be and the love between the two men sadly brings to light Luca’s parents’ hate and intolerance towards their relationship.
