Cancer Patient Gets Surprise Call From Dolly Parton Before Christmas

International superstar Dolly Parton surprised a terminally ill cancer patient with a phone call and a song just before Christmas, proving once again – when in doubt, be like Dolly. LeGrand “LG” Gold was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer in 2021, and with an eye on the horizon, he wrote down 10 bucket list wishes. One of those was to “Meet Dolly Parton,” his favorite music artist. Earlier in the month, his doctors shared the news that his cancer was no longer responding to treatment, Gold told NBC affiliate KSL-TV. So  they sent him home telling him to “be with your family.” Imagine his surprise when the phone rang on Friday and LG and his wife Alice were greeted with one of the most famous voices in the world: “Hey, LG, it’s Dolly P!” https://twitter.com/TheMessenger/status/1739752213063372976 “Well, I’ve heard you’ve been a fan of mine for many years,” the singer continued. “I just wanted to thank you for that.” “I’m just happy we got to have our journey together in this lifetime,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer added as Gold listened with a huge smile on his face. “I always want to make people happy with my music and things I do and the things I say. I’m just happy to know I’ve touched your life in some way.” Clearly surprised by the moment, Gold told Dolly, “You’ve been a huge help, especially these last two years.”

As the call came to a close, Parton promised to “travel on” with Gold throughout his journey and said, “Just know that I will always love you.” “I should have sung that, shouldn’t I?” Parton quickly realized before breaking out in song. “I will always love you,” Parton sang, “I will always love, LG.” Watch the happy surprise call below. https://youtu.be/MNCdYXxFK-0?si=opte2ntwlSRZAHa-
