Daily Dance: Random Partner + Random Song + Improv

Dancers Igor Pitangui and Thibault Ramirez won the West Coast Swing competition ‘Random partner/Random song’ in Budapest, Hungary, this year. The improv dance was gorgeous, and Igor’s story makes it all even better. In this video, there are many of important layers to my trajectory and I will never forget this moment.

First to have @benmorrisdance announcing it the way he did was a huge surprise and I’m an absolute fan of his and all he stands for in creativity is spontaneity so I could swoon over just that start.

Then there’s @nicrmz, a person I love and have as a dear friend, telling me nice things before dancing.

So I dance with Thibault, a friend that I trust and who I love to dance with. All the audience that stayed the whole time cheering even with the moments of fall or imperfections… All the Champions in the chairs behind, people that I respect and admire so much, cheering and enjoying this moment. Not even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that.

That boy who left the interior of Brazil, who once cleaned toilets in exchange for a scholarship to dance classes. That boy who spent days with two cookies in his stomach because he didn’t have money to buy food. This boy fulfilled a dream!

This boy who is now a man continues to dream. I tell you to never give up on your dreams, no matter how impossible they seem, work to make them come true.
