Christmas Music: Nat King Cole ‘The Christmas Song’

Nat King Cole The Christmas Song

It’s Christmas week, so this seems the perfect time to share this iconic holiday classic – Nat King Cole’s gorgeous “The Christmas Song” in a rare live TV performance.

Originally written by Mel Tormé and Bob Wells in 1944, it was first recorded by The King Cole Trio in 1946.

The song was recorded again in stereophonic sound with a full orchestra (conducted by Ralph Carmichael) using the same lush arrangement for Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song album in 1961.

Just so totally warm and wonderful.
