Fox News To Jill Stein: “There’s Not A Chance In The World” A Recount Will Change The Election

Things got really heated today on Fox News Sunday as host Chris Wallace challenged Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein on her ongoing mission to see the results of the election recounted in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Said Wallace, “There’s not a chance in the world here, Dr. Stein, that the vote is going to change in those three states.”

I honestly don’t understand why conservatives are so adverse to a recount.

The money has been raised by private citizens, it’s not costing the American taxpayer anything, and it’s legal. Plus, for weeks Donald Trump ranted that the “system was rigged.” Just this week he asserted that there were “millions” of illegal votes in other states.

So  what’s so bad about looking into these issues?

I don’t believe a recount will change the outcome of the election, but I do agree with Dr. Stein that irregularities will always lead to questions unless we actually audit results in our elections.

What harm could there be?

And one more thing – Wallace asserts that Stein is doing exactly what Trump declared before the election in that he said he may or may not accept the results of the election.

The difference between the two is that Trump was saying he might not accept results based on nothing that had happened yet. Stein is acting now, in a perfectly legal manner, based on the research of computer experts who have seen irregularities that don’t seem to make sense. Trump’s statements before the election are not the same as Stein’s after.

Standing Rock Protesters Celebrate Victory As Army Corp Denies Further Construction On DAPL

Good news for the protesters at Standing Rock as the Army Corps of Engineers has denied a permit for the Dakota Access Pipeline to continue construction.

From RawStory:

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Sunday that it won’t grant an easement for the Dakota Access oil pipeline in southern North Dakota.

The decision is a victory for the several thousand camped near the construction site, who’ve said for months that the four-state, $3.8 billion project would threaten a water source and cultural sites.

The pipeline is largely complete except for the now-blocked segment underneath Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir. According to a news release, Assistant Secretary for Civil Works Jo-Ellen Darcy said her decision was based on the need to “explore alternate routes” for the pipeline’s crossing.

“Although we have had continuing discussion and exchanges of new information with the Standing Rock Sioux and Dakota Access, it’s clear that there’s more work to do,” Darcy said. “The best way to complete that work responsibly and expeditiously is to explore alternate routes for the pipeline crossing.”

Thousands of opponents of the project have held strong in solidarity and protest at the site in North Dakota for weeks saying the pipeline will have a devastating effect on the environment, especially the drinking water used by the Standing Rock Sioux tribe.

Militarized police have utilized rubber bullets, sound cannons and water cannons in the freezing cold to attempt to deter the protests.

Trump Tweets About SNL Skit Mocking His Twitter Habits

Donald Trump is really showing how thin skinned he really is.

Last night, after Saturday Night Live’s cold open poked fun at Trump’s Twitter habits, the Trumpster took to (where else?) Twitter to criticize the show calling the skit “unwatchable” and “totally biased.”

From TIME:

Saturday’s episode featured Baldwin as the president-elect constantly distracted by his Twitter feed during a national security briefing. The sketch opened in a classroom, where a high school student named Seth was retweeted by Trump—recalling Trump’s real retweet of a 16-year-old named Seth, who attacked CNN over its coverage of Trump’s false claim that millions of people voted illegally.

In an attempt to defend her boss, Kate McKinnon’s Kellyanne Conway said Trump tweets so frequently “to distract the media from his business conflicts and all the very scary people in his cabinet.”

Trump disagreed that he could be so tricky.

“Actually, that’s not why I do it,” he said “I do it because my brain is bad.”

Alec Baldwin had one the best responses to The Donald:

But then there was Danielle Muscato, who’s series of tweets to the Trumpster went viral:

Mike Pence’s New Neighbors Fly Rainbow Flags In Peaceful Protest Of His Anti-LGBT Positions

Several of Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s neighbors in Washington, D.C. have begun flying rainbow flags in an effort to peacefully protest his now infamous anti-LGBT positions.

From CNN:

Until he moves into the Naval Observatory after taking office, the vice president-elect is renting a $6,000-a-month home in Chevy Chase, a swanky neighborhood in the Northwest quadrant of the nation’s capital.

Some neighbors have put up rainbow flags since the Indiana governor moved in to protest what they call his anti-gay policy positions. The flag represents a symbol of pride in the LGBT community.

Roughly half-dozen pride flags are outside of homes on the block where Pence lives and neighbors say more are on the way.
