Netflix Suspends Production On Final Season Of HOUSE OF CARDS

Deadline is reporting that Netflix has hit pause on filming the final season of hit series House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey in the aftermath of Anthony Rapp’s allegations of unwanted sexual advances made by Spacey when Rapp was 14-years-old.

Filming on the upcoming sixth and final season of Netflix’s Washington D.C.-set drama House of Cards has been suspended indefinitely. Cast and crew of the MRC-produced series were told of the shutdown this morning.

“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” the two companies said in a joint statement to Deadline.

The news comes less than 24 hours after Netflix announced that House of Cards will end with its upcoming sixth season as allegations of unwanted sexual advances in 1986 by HoC star Kevin Spacey against then-14-year-old Anthony Rapp had emerged.

Netflix says the decision to make season 6 the last season of the series was made months ago.

There are rumors of a possible spin-off series starring one of the other lead actors.

The Late Show: “‘Tis The Season For Treason – A Very Mueller Christmas”

We may be observing Halloween today, but last night Stephen Colbert was thinking more along the lines of Christmas as he recounted the day’s headlines about 3 Trump campaign officials being charged in the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Commenting on the president’s weekend tweets that included a caps-locked “DO SOMETHING!” which quickly became a trending hashtag, Colbert said, “There’s something so reassuringly presidential about the president screaming ‘DO SOMETHING!’ into the void.”

Funny stuff. Watch below.

Video: Sensitive Coming Out Moment On Season Premiere Of Disney Channel’s “Andi Mack”

Last week I reported on the upcoming “coming out” storyline for the Disney Channel’s Andi Mack series.

On the season 2 premiere last Friday, audiences were touched by this sensitive moment when series regular “Cyrus” (played by Joshua Rush) confides in his friend “Buffy” (Sofia Wyle) that he is conflicted by his feelings of jealousy.

“Jonah” (Asher Angel) and “Andi” (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) have just begun officially dating, and Cyrus is at odds with the news.

“How come? Are you jealous, Cyrus? Do you like Andi?” Buffy asks.

“No,” he says, quietly looking away.

“You like Jonah?” she asks.

Cyrus nods, tentative in admitting his feelings. “Buffy, I feel weird. Different.”

Cyrus will explore his burgeoning sexuality over the course of season 2, as well as journey through the dreaded coming out process so many LGBTs experience in our early teen years.

This is the Disney Channel’s first series to have an openly gay series regular. Andi Mack is currently the most popular series on the network among young girls.

Scary Halloween Moment: Talk Show Host Wendy Williams Faints On-Air

Wendy Williams

Longtime talk show host Wendy Williams had a truly scary moment for Halloween today when she overheated due to her Statue of Liberty costume and full-on fainted.

As you can see in the clip below, Williams’ speech begins to slow before she stops completely, staggering a few steps before hitting the floor.

Crew members immediately stepped in.

After a commercial break, Williams was awake and cognizant telling her audience, “That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume. I passed out. I’m a champ and I’m back.”

New Music: Clean Bandit “I Miss You” Featuring Julia Michaels

New music from Randy Report favorite Clean Bandit featuring Julia Michaels, “I Miss You.”

Julia Michaels’ sophisticated vulnerability on the vocals (and lyric writing) totally clicks with Clean Bandit’s slick production.

Clean Bandit also announced 2018 tour dates with the release of “I Miss You.” Find tour dates and more here.

Hong Kong Chosen To Host 2022 Gay Games

Hong Kong will be the first Asian city to host the Gay Games having won the right to present the eleventh edition of the LGBT athletic event in 2022.

From OutSports:

Hong Kong was one of three finalist cities, along with Guadalajara, Mexico, and Washington D.C.

It marks the second time a city outside of North America and Europe will host the quadrennial event and the first time a city in Asia has been selected as the host. The FGG has made a commitment to diversity and expanding outside of North America and Europe with scholarship funds and other efforts. The selection of the Chinese city strengthens that commitment.

The Gay Games started in 1982 in San Francisco as the brainchild of former Olympian Tom Waddell, who was seeking to bridge the divide between the LGBT community and the sports world. Past host cities have been Vancouver, New York, Amsterdam, Sydney, Chicago, Cologne and Cleveland.

Gay Games X will take place in Paris next August. Organizers expect about 10,000 participants across 36 sports. If you’re interested in participating, visit the Paris 2018 Web site.

Gallup Poll: Trump Approval Rating Plummets To New Low

It’s not a good day in Trump Land.

In addition to three Donald Trump advisers being indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, and Trump’s proposed ban on transgender military service members being blocked by a federal judge, there’s more bad news for the Trumpster as the Gallup Tracking poll shows the president has hit a historic low in his approval rating in the poll.

Today’s results show Trump at a dismal 33% approval rating; his disapproval rating has shot up to 62%.

So. Much. Winning.

On this day in 2009, President Obama’s first year in the White House, his approval rating was 55% with only 40% disapproval.

Federal Judge Blocks Trump Ban On Transgender Military Service Members

A federal judge has effectively blocked Donald Trump’s proposed ban on transgender service members in the military saying the ban was “driven by a desire to express disapproval of transgender people generally.”

From KCRA:

On July 26 Trump issued a statement via Twitter announcing that “the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.” A presidential memorandum later required the military to remove transgender service members by authorizing their discharge no later than March 23, 2018.

In a federal case, a judge said in an Oct. 30 opinion that the president’s directives are “not genuinely based on legitimate concerns regarding military effectiveness or budget constraints, but are instead driven by a desire to express disapproval of transgender people generally.”

Before the Aug. 25 presidential memorandum, the Department of Defense had announced that openly transgender individuals would be allowed to enlist in the military, effective Jan. 1, 2018, and had prohibited the discharge of service members based solely on their gender identities, the court summarized.

Bolding is mine.

Trump’s original announcement about the ban on trans people came via Twitter this summer:
