Staying with my brother who can’t bear to throw anything from our childhood away. I had to take a pic of this VELVET painting of our first dog, Buddy. This is from the mid 60s when folks immortalized people and pets on black velvet. How do I know this? Because I was there.
I would love to say I’m amazed Gary still has it – but I’m not. Bless his heart.

This process was long, wrong and drawn out for purely political reasons, and the American people are the sad beneficiaries of the lack of compromise that took so long to deal with the people’s business.
Even now, as I type this, Michael Steele, former head of RNC says the President needs to “lead by laying out his priorities for Congress” after the President just went into detail about what he wants to focus on – JOBS. Steele needed to get his spin out there, even after the President did exactly what he was asking for.
Lord.
Please Washington – get to work and get things done for the better of the country. Find COMMON GROUND. Not far right or far left positions that are not what the country is looking for.
How cute is this? A little baby chimp, dressed in denim shorts, shows off her maternal side as she feeds an orphaned baby tiger from a milk bottle.
The chimp makes sure her charge gets a full feeding before then spending some quality time playing around with the little cat.
The tiger cub was separated from her mother following a hurricane and is now being cared for by the baby chimp, named China.
Olivier Odom and her partner Jennifer Tipton were entering the Dollywood park with their family on July 9 when a park worker asked Odom to turn her shirt inside out. The words “Marriage is so gay” were printed on the shirt, in support of gay marriage. When she asked why she needed to turn the shirt inside out, the park worker told Odom that Dollywood is a “family park.”
Odom complied, but wrote a letter to Dollywood later asking the park to “implement policies that are “inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people” and “inclusive of all families.” She also stated that she felt Dollywood’s policy regarding clothing or tattoos should be more clearly spelled out.
Reps for Dollywood issued a statement in response to the news, assuring the LGBT community that everyone was welcome at Dollywood properties. Dolly Parton has released a statement to ABC News apologizing for the incident. The statement reads:
“I am truly sorry for the hurt or embarrassment regarding the gay and lesbian t-shirt incident at Dollywood’s Splash Country recently. Everyone knows of my personal support of the gay and lesbian community. Dollywood is a family park and all families are welcome.” Dolly adds that the policies on clothing or signs with profanity or controversial messages are in place to protect the person wearing the shirt and keep disturbances at the park to a minimum. Dolly concludes saying, “I am looking further into the incident and hope and believe it was more policy than insensitivity. I am very sorry it happened at all.”
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords returned to the floor of the House today for the first time since being shot to attend and vote in favor of the Debt Ceiling bill.
The producers of the 50th Anniversary production of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING announced today that Darren Criss, breakout star of Fox’s Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning smash hit television show “GLEE”, will make his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch, performing a strictly limited three week engagement from January 3, through January 22, 2012.
He will replace Daniel Radcliffe, who will play his final performance on Sunday, January 1, 2012.
