LGBTQ Activists Put Pride Flag On Parade Hidden In Plain Sight – “The Hidden Flag”

LGBT activists are parading the banned rainbow flag around Russia during the World Cup by hiding the flag in plain sight

Since Russia has a ban on ‘gay propaganda’ – which would include even a simple rainbow flag – these LGBTQ activists have undertaken a subversive mission to share the colors of pride.

Calling themselves ‘The Hidden Flag,’ they are proudly parading our Pride colors around Russia in plain sight.

Clever, kids, clever 🙂

We have taken advantage of the fact the country is hosting the World Cup at the same time as Pride Month, to denounce their behaviour and take the rainbow flag to the streets of Russia.

Yes, in the plain light of day, in front of the Russian authorities, Russian society and the whole world, we wave the flag with pride.

How? In a way that no one would ever suspect. Football shirts.

Spain, The Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. Six countries. Six brave LGBT activists, that together, form the flag that toured around iconic sites in Russia, traveling to every corner to fight against a struggle that will never be silenced.

In a scary moment, one member of the group was detained at the airport as he was leaving Russia. But after 15 hours, he was allowed to continue home.

Mateo Fernandez told Gay Star News, “When we were doing it, I was scared shitless.”

But added, “It was completely worth it.”

Music Video: Sofi Tukker “Good Time Girl” Feat. Charlie Baker

Wow – busy day today and I was just thinking, we need some new music to groove to.

Sometimes, you ask, you get.

Sofi Tukker drops the music video for “Good Time Girl” today featuring Charlie Barker from the debut album Treehouse

“This is a really personal, tongue-in-cheek song about navigating this nebulous thing called a ‘casual relationship,'” the pair say about the track.

Come along, take a ride with the gang floating down the river on Charlie’s London houseboat. The track has a chill, ethereal quality but definitely bops.

“We really identify with the queer community because of how much it revolves about being yourself, especially when that means going against the grain,” the duo recently told Gay Times Magazine. “It is so joyous and uplifting – and so great for creating!”

Documentary: ‘Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood’

Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood is the deliciously scandalous story of Scotty Bowers, a handsome ex-Marine who landed in Hollywood after World War II and became confidante, aide-de-camp and lover to many of Hollywood’s greatest male—and female—stars.

In the 1940s and ‘50s, Scotty ran a gas station in the shadow of the studio lots where he would connect his friends with actors and actresses who had to hide their true sexual identities for fear of police raids at gay bars, societal shunning and career suicide. An unsung Hollywood legend, Bowers would cater to the sexual appetites of celebrities—straight and gay–for decades.

The list of A-list celebrities Bowers attended to reads like a who’s who of golden age Hollywood. Rock Hudson, Cole Porter, Cary Grant, and Katharine Hepburn were among the stars Bowers reportedly catered to.

The documentary is based on the New York Times best-selling memoir Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars.

After having a successful run on the film festival circuit, the film opens in Los Angeles on July 27 and on August 3 in NYC.

Former President Carter: Jesus Would Approve Of Gay Marriage

In a recent interview with HuffPost Live, former President Jimmy Carter shared he believes that Jesus would approve of same-sex marriage.

Promoting his book Faith: A Journey For All, Carter was asked by journalist Marc Lamont how his religious background aligns with the concept of marriage equality.

“That’s no problem with me,” he said. “I think everyone should have a right to get married regardless of their sex.”

The only conflict Carter says he holds regarding the issue would be if a church were forced to perform same-sex marriages which conflicted with that church’s teachings. This, of course, has never happened.

“But those two partners should be able to go to the local courthouse, or to a different church, and get married,” he added.

The 39th president did say abortion was a moral “problem” for him.

“I have a hard time believing that Jesus, for instance, would approve of abortions unless it was because of rape or incest or if the mother’s life was in danger.”

Carter admitted that while he has long held a conflict on the issue he ‘went along with that” because his “oath of office was to obey the Constitution and the laws of this country, as interpreted by the Supreme Court.”

Lamont pivoted back to the topic of marriage asking point-blank, “Would Jesus have approved of gay marriage?”

The 93-year-old didn’t hesitate in answering. “I believe he would,” Carter said. “I believe Jesus would. I don’t have any verse and scripture.”

“Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere, and was not damaging to anyone else,” he added. “And I don’t see that gay marriage damages anyone else.”

A longtime ally, Carter campaigned on the idea that “homosexuals should not be singled out for discrimination.”

After winning election, in 1977 Carter became the first sitting president to invite LGBTQ advocates to the White House.

He also shared in 2010 that he feels the United States is ready for an openly gay president.

Hollywood Golden Boy, Tan Hunter, Passes Away At 86

Tab Hunter, the handsome heartthrob of Hollywood’s golden age, has passed away at the age of 86 in his home in Santa Barbara, California.

Tab Hunter, the handsome heartthrob of Hollywood’s golden age, has passed away at the age of 86 in his home in Santa Barbara, California.

The news was announced on the Facebook page for the 2015 documentary about his life, Tab Hunter: Confidential:

A representative reported the death was due to a blood clot.

With a career spanning over 40 films from the 1950s like Damn Yankees! and Battle Cry to the 1980s in Grease 2, and John Waters’ movies Polyester and Lust in the Dust, Hunter had recently returned to the spotlight after coming out in his 2005 memoir, Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star.

Hunter also enjoyed some success in the music world, scoring a hit single with “Young Love” in 1957.

A revealing documentary based on his memoir was released in 2015 simply titled, Tab Hunter Confidential. The documentary is currently on Netflix and I can’t recommend it enough.

His most notable recent public appearance was attending a performance of the acclaimed revival of The Boys in the Band on Broadway. The 86-year-old was spotted backstage speaking with one of the play’s stars, Zachary Quinto, who is producing a new biopic regarding the longtime, secret romance between Hunter and actor Anthony Perkins.

Fearful of losing his all-American image, Hunter never spoke about his sexuality until his memoir in 2005.

In an interview from last year with the Pocono Record, he said:

“If I had come out during my acting career in the 1950s, I would not have had a career. Not much in Hollywood has changed in 60 years. I really didn’t talk about my sexuality until I wrote my autobiography. My film career had long since been over by then. I believe one’s sexuality is one’s own business. I really don’t go around discussing it. Call me ’old school’ on that topic.”

Hunter would have turned 87 this Wednesday, July 11.

3 More Men Come Forward With Allegations Of Sexual Assault By Kevin Spacey

The allegations of ‘inappropriate behavior’ by Oscar winner Kevin Spacey continue to pile up as three more men have come forward accusing Spacey of sexual assault.

All three men say the assaults took place in the 1990s in England. Police in the UK are now investigating six different accusations of assault by the actor.

Concurrently, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is looking into a 1992 accusation of sexual assault against Spacey.

It was in late October of 2017 that the Academy Award winner’s career began to spin out from under him as Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp came forward during the surge of the #MeToo movement to accuse Spacey of making a sexual advance to him in the 1980s when Rapp was only 14-years-old.

Almost immediately, a list of other men came forward with their own reports of sexual impropriety.

The 58-year-old actor was released from his starring role on the hit Netflix series House of Cards after several members of the cast and crew raised their own accusations.

It’s been announced that the final season of House of Cards will focus on Robin Wright’s character of “Claire Underwood.” The series recently released this tease.

Additionally, Spacey was also edited out of the movie All the Money in the World shortly before it’s release and replaced with Christopher Plummer, who would go on to be nominated for Golden Globe, BAFTA and Academy Awards for his work in the film.

According to reports, Spacey’s agent and publicist have severed ties with the actor.

Stelter sees the conservative network’s support for Trump as a sort of “merger between a culture-war TV station and a culture-war president.”

Many are beginning to call Fox News the ‘state-run news organization.’
