Pink’s new single “Try” featuring Broadway’s Colt Prattes

The new video for Pink’s second single off The Truth About Love was just released and it’s a beautifully choreographed piece of interpretive dance.

Wearing not much more than underwear and colored chalk, Pink performs an elaborate routine with Broadway’s Colt Prattes (How To Succeed, West Side Story),  both inside an abandoned house and in the desert.

Check out just a little more of the sexy Mr. Prattes from the poster for this year’s Broadway Bares event in NYC. Talk about Prince Charming…

Alex Karras, star of ‘Victor/Victoria’ and more – dead at 77.

Alex Karras, a fierce and relentless All-Pro lineman for the Detroit Lions whose irrepressible character placed him frequently at odds with football’s authorities but led to a second career as an actor on television and in the movies, died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 77.

Karras played numerous guest roles on series television, on shows like “McMillan and Wife,” “Love, American Style,” “M*A*S*H” and “The Odd Couple.”  He played Mongo, a hulking subliterate outlaw who delivers a knockout punch to a horse, in the Mel Brooks western spoof “Blazing Saddles.”

In 1975 he played George Zaharias, the husband of the champion track star and golfer Babe Didrickson Zaharias, in the television movie “Babe.” The title role was played by Susan Clark, who became his wife, and from 1983 to 1989, they starred together in the gentle sitcom “Webster,” about a retired football player who takes in a black boy (Emmanuel Lewis), the orphaned young son of a former teammate.

But for me, his best role was as “Squash Bernstein” – one of the most surprising gay roles in movies. For 1982, it was unusual to see a gay man portrayed by such a macho, “straight-acting” man. I think it was ground-breaking in many ways and played with courage and confidence. The same courage and confidence he displayed as a pro football player.

Karras had kidney disease, heart disease and stomach cancer, his family said in a statement announcing his death, as well as dementia. He was among the more than 3,500 former players who are suing the National Football League in relation to the long-term damage caused by concussions and repeated hits to the head.

Debbie Reynolds rushed to hospital this past weekend

Debbie Reynolds was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital over the weekend after what her rep calls an “adverse reaction to medicine.”

The health scare is serious enough that the 80-year-old actress is still recovering in L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and has been advised to cancel her appearances for the next three months, Reynold’s rep told TMZ.com.

Her condition has been linked to “an adverse reaction she experienced to a medication she was currently taking,” the rep told the gossip site before adding that Reynolds had shown signs of improvement.

Reynolds just wrapped the filming of Steven Soderbergh’s Liberace biopic, “Behind the Candelabra,” which stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.

Baptist Pastors support marriage equality in Maryland

In new ads from Marylanders for Marriage Equality, two African-American pastors speak out in support of the Question 6 ballot measure, which would put Maryland’s legislatively-passed marriage equality law into effect.

The Baltimore Sun reports: “The ads are designed to counter an organized push by black churches to preach opposition to same-sex marriage from the pulpit this month. Both sides are wooing black voters this year; they made up about 25 percent of the electorate in 2008, and are expected to come out in similar numbers for this year’s election.”

Says Rev. Donte Hickman: “As a pastor, my support for Question 6 is rooted in my belief that the government should treat everyone equally.”

Says Rev. Delman Coates: “This law does not force any church to perform a same-sex marriage if it’s against their beliefs. Protecting religious freedom and protecting all Marylanders equally under the law. That’s what this is about.”

Homeland Security issues written guidelines regarding deportation of binational same-sex couples

Dhs

The Obama administration has issued written guidelines to immigration officials whose job it is to determine potential deportation cases regarding same-sex relationships.

The guidelines indicate three criteria, the Washington Blade‘s Chris Johnson reports:

Same-sex relationships that rise to the level of “family relationships” are long-term, same-sex relationships in which the individuals:

• are each other’s sole domestic partner and intend to remain so indefinitely;

• are not in a marital or other domestic relationship with anyone else; and typically maintain a common residence

• and share financial obligations and assets.

Anderson Cooper on Bristol Palin

“Anyone who is on a reality show knows that to get attention, you have to have a have a wardrobe malfunction, throw up, have a breakdown — have a storyline. Bristol Palin is a genius because last night she developed a storyline that made her very sympathetic. I am thinking of starting a job fair for people…who need to get jobs [like] Lindsay Lohan, Bristol Palin. I think they just need to get jobs, stop being on TV!” – Anderson Cooper, speaking on his talk show after Bristol “stormed out” of her Dancing With The Stars rehearsal because her dance partner “wasn’t being supportive.” Bristol once again survived last night’s elimination, leading to screams of “FIXED!” on Twitter.

Mitt Romney debates with himself

For anyone still on the fence – SRSLY? You’re considering this guy?

I don’t mean to be insulting, but THIS is the guy you want to make the leader of the free world?

You can choose between the guy who saved the auto industry, got Bin Laden, doubled the stock market and is steadily bringing unemployment down with 31 straight months of positive job creation.

Or you can choose this guy.

Please think about that.
