Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issued a statement taking responsibility for possible inadequate security and the subsequent attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya in September,
From CNN:
“I take responsibility,” Clinton said during a visit to Peru. “I’m in charge of the State Department’s 60,000-plus people all over the world, 275 posts. The president and the vice president wouldn’t be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals. They’re the ones who weigh all of the threats and the risks and the needs and make a considered decision.”
But she said an investigation now under way will ultimately determine what happened at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, where Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed on September 11.
“I take this very personally,” Clinton said. “So we’re going to get to the bottom of it, and then we’re going to do everything we can to work to prevent it from happening again, and then we’re going to work to bring whoever did this to us to justice.”
Bravo to CNN’s Carol Costello for being fair here. She gives Mr. Fischer the chance to share his views and then calmly calls him for what it is – hate speech.
This is from a discussion on CNN today about SPLC’s “Mix It Up Day” which is meant to promote tolerance and fight bullying.
I continue to ask the question: what is wrong with letting people be who they are, as God created them?
And while the US Constitution ensures the right of free speech, just because you CAN say something – even if it’s not true – doesn’t mean you SHOULD say it.
Here is just part of what Fischer says in the clip:
“…what parents need to understand, this is about pressuring public schools and students in public schools to accept homosexuality as a normal, healthy alternative to heterosexuality. It’s interesting to me they’re doing this on October 30, the day before Halloween, and what this program is, it’s like poisoned Halloween candy. Somebody takes a candy bar, injects it with cyanide, the label looks fine, it looks innocuous, it looks fine, it’s not until you internalize it that you realize how toxic it is. And we want parents to be aware that any program that any program that comes from the Southern Poverty Law Center is going to be toxic to their students’ moral health. “

The third of our four-part series made in each of the states that have marriage equality votes this November, this short shares the experiences of same-sex couples who want to get married in Washington.
They have the same challenges, responsibilities, and aspirations as any other couple–but they are strangers in the eyes of the law. That’s why marriage equality is so important: it aligns personal reality with legal reality, as a simple matter of fairness.
The series is produced in association with The Four, a social media campaign to support marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington State. Learn more and get involved at http://TheFour.com.
Please watch this and then ask yourself: “Is this the kind of President I want? Someone who says ‘whatever people in front of him want to hear’ to get elected?”
Seriously. None of this video is made up. THIS is Mitt Romney.
The US Supreme Court on Tuesday refused a Republican request to get involved in a dispute over early voting in Ohio on the three days before Election Day.
The campaign of President Barack Obama and Ohio Democrats sued the state over changes in Ohio law that took away the three days of voting for most people, but made exceptions for military personnel and Ohioans living overseas. Democrats say nearly 100,000 people voted in the three days before the election in 2008.
A federal appeals court ruling reinstated voting on the weekend before the election and Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, a Republican, appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court, to no avail.
Personally, I cannot see a good reason to end early voting, as has been done for years in Ohio.
This isn’t about “Voter ID” laws. This was about the tradition of many, many Ohioans going to vote after church on the Sunday before elections.
America should be looking to ENCOURAGE as many legally registered voters to take part in the electoral process – not discourage.
Shame on the Ohio Secretary of State. Bad politics.

From Felix Baumgarten’s perspective. Short video, but fascinating.
You have to smile when his parachute opens. Very cool.
Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Billie Jean King, George Takei, Wanda Sykes, Zachary Quinto, and Chaz Bono share why they’re supporting President Obama and why Mitt Romney isn’t the choice for them.
I like things explained to me in simple terms. I don’t pretend to be an economic genius. I do understand a lot through reading as much as I can, but like most Americans, I admit I understand things best when broken down in commonsense terms.
Bill Clinton breaks down Mitt Romney’s $5 trillion tax cut plan in a new ad in easy to understand terms. You know 1+1 still equals 2 in the real world:
“The effect will be to give people with incomes over $3 million a $250,000 tax cut” and raise taxes on middle income people by an average of $2,000, adding, “We simply cannot afford to give another round of tax cuts to people who got the benefit of the tax cuts and the economic growth of the last decade. It hasn’t worked before, and it won’t work this time.”
Michael Brutsch, aka “Violentacrez,” was Reddit’s biggest troll until Gawker exposed his true identify, revealing to the world the man behind questionable forums, such as r/creepshots — a space dedicated to pictures of women unaware that their photographs had been taken. Now that the 49-year-old from Arlington, Texas, has been outed, his behavior has caught up with him. According to The Daily Dot, Brutsch was fired from his position at a financial services company less than 24 hours after Gawker editor Adrian Chen’s exposé went live. (via HuffingtonPost)
