A new campaign ad from Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) offers this vision of women being arrested by the police at home for having an abortion after the procedure is banned.

In the ad, a woman named Mary Anderson is enjoying dinnertime with her husband and children when police lights appear outside of her window. A knock on the door reveals two police officers who explain they are there to arrest her for “unlawful termination of a pregnancy.”

The officer’s inform Anderson her doctor in “in custody” and she’ll need to submit to a physical examination.

“I wanted it to be clear that no police officer wants to be in this position,” Swalwell told MSNBC’s Joy Reid. “And for the officer to say ‘Ma’am, we’re just doing our job,’ that’s the horrible position we’re going to put law enforcement in.”

He added, “I wish this was an exaggeration, but this is going to be the new reality in MAGA America if we do not win the midterms in both the House and Senate.”

While the clip may seem overly dramatic to some, when you think about the laws that have been passed in some states, this does seem to be what such situations could look like.
