Texas Judge Bans Abortion Pills Nationwide

Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump-appointee in Texas just halted the F.D.A.’s 23-year-old approval of the abortion pill mifepristone in every state, making their distribution illegal in a week. And then less than an hour later, Judge Thomas O. News: Cancel Culture In Tennessee + Mpox + More

Tennessee lawmakers have introduced their own "Don't Say Gay" legislation which would prohibit discussion of LGBTQ topics on any level in schools. Some news stories you might have missed: • New York Times: The Tennessee House, where Republicans have a super-majority, voted to expel two Democrats from the state legislature a week after they joined protesters in a call for stricter gun laws in the wake of a shooting that left six dead at a Christian school. Supreme Court Rejects West Virginia’s Request To Enforce Anti-Trans Law

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected West Virginia’s request that it be allowed to enforce its anti-transgender sports ban against Becky Pepper-Jackson, a 12-year-old transgender girl who is a member of her school’s cross-country team.
