Some news items I thought worth your time: • The Advocate: The Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, D.C., has canceled two major exhibitions showcasing Black and LGBTQ+ artists, citing executive orders from Donald Trump targeting DEI initiatives. • The Hill: The GOP-led Iowa legislature just became the first in modern history to repeal a statutory civil rights law by removing protections for gender identity first passed in 2007. The move effectively legalizes discrimination against trans people in housing, healthcare, and employment.

• Middle East Eye: According to a draft document from Turkey’s justice ministry, “biological sex” could be written into the country’s law. The new legislation would also introduce prison time for those who conduct same-sex marriage ceremonies or “promote” LGBTQ rights. • Kenneth-in-the-212: Check out Kenneth’s weekly round-up of LGBTQ publications. 
• AP News: Thousands of fired USAID employees were given 15 minutes today to clear out their personal belongings from the agency’s former headquarters. Roughly 90% of its contracts for humanitarian and development aid are being canceled. • New York Times: Academy Award winner Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their New Mexico home on Wednesday. • WTAJ: A Pennsylvania state lawmaker wants to make it a crime for minors to see drag performances. The bill would effectively criminalize Pride celebrations where drag queens often host Pride events.
