Anti-LGBTQ Activist Arrested For Recording In Public Bathroom At Naples Pride

Andrew Sheets, 61, was arrested on charges of video voyeurism after he recorded people illegally in a bathroom at the Naples Pride festival held at Cambier Park on April 18.

Sheets admits he recorded and posted the footage on YouTube claiming he was trying to document “grooming” at the Pride festival. The footage shows Sheets in a restroom and captures a mirror reflection of other men using the restroom.

Federal and state laws specifically prohibit capturing images without consent in places like restrooms.

“Yes, I did go in,” Sheets told Gulf Coast News. “My intent was not to get d*ck pics, like they’re trying to say,” Sheets said. “If it was illegal, why didn’t the cops have it taken down? If it was illegal, why isn’t YouTube taking it down?”

Last I checked, Sheets’s video is still up on YouTube. There’s nothing inappropriate captured in the video – except the fact that Sheets shot video in a public bathroom. THAT’s what’s illegal.

One of the oldest anti-LGBTQ talking points is accusing queer people of being predators. In this situation, the guy accusing gays of “grooming” is the one secretly recording men in a public bathroom. #irony

Naples Pride addressed the incident in a Facebook post:

Naples Pride is aware of the arrest stemming from footage recorded and publicly posted by an anti-LGBTQ+ individual who attended Naples Pridefest ’26 wearing Meta smart glasses capable of recording video.

According to the Naples Police Department arrest report, the individual entered our PrideFest and later uploaded footage online titled “Documenting the grooming churchs at the Naples gay pride trany event, cops had me folowed every where,” which allegedly included two undercover officers in a restroom where there was a reasonable expectation of privacy.

The individual was subsequently charged with video voyeurism and dissemination of video voyeurism material. The irony is difficult to ignore.

A man who publicly accused our community of “grooming” now stands accused of unlawfully recording people in a place where privacy is expected.
