Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy announced today that 776 air traffic controllers with “perfect attendance” during the 40-day government shutdown will be receiving a $10,000 bonus for their “patriotic work.”
This comes after the chaos of the longest shutdown of the federal government in history that resulted in air controllers’ working overtime, calling out sick, mass flight cancellations and delays, and a temporary reduction in flights at 40 of the busiest airports.
Recipients will be notified next week and receive their payments by Dec. 9.
Santa’s coming to town a little early
President Trump wanted to give air traffic controllers and technicians BONUSES for showing up to work EVERY DAY during the government shutdown… and TODAY IS THE DAY!

In related news, on Thursday, Duffy told Fox Business News that his answer to solving unpleasant travel days is to “be in a good mood, dress up” and “bring back civility.”
The Golden Age of Travel starts with ALL OF US.
Let’s be merry this holiday season as we fly!
Dress up to go to the airport, help a stranger out, and be in a good mood.
We can bring civility back, it’s as easy as that! ✈️ pic.twitter.com/CSAYe6ME31

p.s. perhaps Duffy should talk to his boss about bringing back civility on air planes…
Pres Trump calling the reporter #MissPiggy is disgusting and degrading. It strikes at the core for me since I faced similar shame. One of my Miss America celeb judges William Goldman wrote an entire book calling me “Miss Piggy” saying I had been too fat to win — at 105 lbs. pic.twitter.com/kxiPFFg3EL
