Some news items you might have missed:
• Deadline: Madonna will open the 2026 VMAs airing live tonight at 7:30pm ET/4:30pm PT on CBS, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ (Premium) in the US. The show will be available globally the next day on Paramount+ and MTV.
• Playbill: The classic 1955 musical Damn Yankees will return to Broadway this spring. Tony/Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will star as “Applegate” alongside Emmy Award winner Julianne Hough (Dancing With the Stars) as “Lola.” Interestingly, the show’s timeframe will be set in the early 2000s.
• LGBTQ Nation: A Florida transgender woman and her partner were assaulted while walking to work last Sunday evening in northwest Miami-Dade in an attack they say came completely out of nowhere. “It was all unprovoked; we were just walking.”
• Mediaite: White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino posted an AI video to social media platforms which showed him riding a luggage cart and popping champagne along with several cronies — including Eric Trump. #wut?
