• Broadway World: Rosie O’Donnell will join the acclaimed Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show this fall in the role of ‘The Narrator’ for a limited two-week run (October 6 through October 18) while current ‘Narrator’ Rachel Dratch takes a short leave from the production.
• JoeMyGod: The city council of Southlake, Texas, has denied a permit for a community Pride festival planned at an Episcopal church. Council members did not discuss the event or ask city staff or organizers any questions before unanimously rejecting a proposal to issue the permit for the Oct. 3 party.

• Gayety: Madonna will open the 2026 VMAs on Sunday, Sept. 27, marking her first live performance at the awards show in 23 years. She last performed at the ceremony in 2003, when she joined Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera for an opening number that instantly became part of pop culture history.
• The Gothamist: The first two modular bathrooms ordered by New York City have arrived on city streets. The rest, a total of 17, are expected to come online in the coming months. The robo-toilets of tomorrow can be opened only by texting a number via a smartphone or by using special tap cards (which will be distributed by community partners) and have a ten-minute limit.

• The Advocate: Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE) – the first out transgender person elected to Congress – is sailing toward reelection after advancing unopposed in Delaware Democratic primary.
• Politico: House Speaker Mike Johnson is sending members home for a 7-week recess a day earlier than expected. The decision allows Republicans to avoid having to vote on an impeachment resolution introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) targeting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
