• Pink News: Out gay Olympic judo star Timo Cavelius (above) is recovering from a broken jaw after being violently attacked by an opponent immediately after defeating him in a competition in Germany. He will need 10–12 weeks to recover and will probably miss the World Judo Championships as a result.
• LGBTQ Nation: A cisgender high school student in Idaho saw a trans girl in the bathroom, and then sued. The Boise school district has agreed to pay her $34,000.

• Washington Sun: The Iran war has cost nearly $40 billion, consumed as many as two-thirds of some critical missile interceptors and is expected to push inflation higher into next year.
• CityNews: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney summed up the currently fraught relationship between Canada and the U.S. in a lighthearted moment at the Canada Investment Summit on Tuesday when he shared a story of Donald Trump giving him a “special” gift.
According to Carney, Trump told him, “It’s a key to the White House. You just bring it, they’ll let you in’ and then he says ‘maybe they’ll shoot you.”
