Some news stories I thought worth your time:
• Washington Post: Donald Trump attended the funeral of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) praising him as “one of the great figures in Senate history” during a funeral Tuesday at Washington National Cathedral that drew heads of state and much of official Washington.
Trump also, predictably, veered off-script when the prepared eulogy said “everyone liked Lindsey.” “Well, not everybody…” Trump added.
Trump takes issue with the Lindsey Graham eulogy he’s reading: “Virtually everyone liked Lindsey. Well, not everybody. But it sounds good. I have to be honest. I have to veer from this for a second.” pic.twitter.com/L5JwAXxWi0

• Them: Kaitlan Collins says Trump’s Dylan Mulvaney joke at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner absolutely bombed: “It was so quiet in the room.”
• LGBTQ Nation: An anti-trans activist in Australia lied about a trans athlete injuring cisgender women. Now she has to pay $95,000 in damages and issue a public apology.
Kirralie Smith admitted in court she didn’t have any evidence to back up her claim about a trans woman injuring two cis women.https://t.co/GvimOR4oRl

• Axios: For only the second time ever, the American Red Cross has declared an emergency national blood crisis, urgently requesting donors to step up, especially those with type O positive blood. Please consider donating if you’re able.
• New York Times: Dr. Anthony S. Fauci refused on Wednesday to answer any questions from a Senate committee investigating the origins of Covid-19. Fauci accused the committee’s Republican chairman, Rand Paul, of having an “unhinged obsession with me,” before repeatedly invoking his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself in order to avoid a perjury trap.
Fauci received a pre-emptive pardon from former President Joe Biden, but the pardon protects him only from federal prosecution for actions he took through the date it was issued, Jan. 19, 2025.
Holy crap.
Anthony Fauci just got under Rand Paul’s Skin so much in refusing to answer his questions after Paul had his private diary released.
Rand Paul just forced Fauci’s attorney out of the hearing.

This is your reminder that on Jan. 19 2021, Trump awarded Dr. Fauci and 51 others Presidential Commendations “in recognition of their exceptional efforts on Operation Warp Speed,” the federal project to develop COVID-19 vaccines. pic.twitter.com/b14776ad26
