• NBC News: Longtime entertainment critic Gene Shalit passed away yesterday at the age of 100. I know a lot of you grew up watching him as I did. Here’s a clip with my dear Carol Channing reducing Gene to tears with a story about Lady Astor and Sir Benjamin back in the day.
• Washington Post: Global HIV prevention programs have declined drastically after the Trump administration made massive cuts in aid. The number of people who received pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) meds declined by 38% between 2024 and 2025

• New York Times: In his first extensive interview since his defeat by a Trump-backed challenger, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said the Senate was in for a “bumpy ride” as he and others flex new political freedom.
• Fox News: Republican Texas Congressman Brandon Gill repeating the current GOP talking point calling Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico a “more effeminate version of Beto O’Rourke…a barely straight version of Pete Buttigieg.”
