There wasn’t much in the way of political commentary last night at the 98th Academy Awards, but there was a vague little something-something that I wondered if it would make it’s way onto the Donald’s radar.
Jimmy Kimmel stepped out to present the Best Documentary Feature award, and before announcing the nominees he dropped a subtle, “Oh man, he is going to be mad his wife wasn’t nominated for this.”
No names, no direct reference…although politically-minded folks knew the remark was in reference to Melania Trump’s failed self-produced, self-titled documentary.
But sure enough, within minutes, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung shared the clip of Kimmel’s joke, calling him a “classless hack who is self-projecting his depression and sadness onto others.”
Funny how triggered Team Trump can get even when no names are used…
