From Navy Seal To Out Seattle Fireman + More News

A few news items you might have missed as we close out the holiday season:

Queerty: In his new memoir, Out There,  Lance Garland shares how he went from being a Navy Seal to becoming Seattle’s first out gay fireman.

LGBTQ Nation: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) promoted hate against a disabled trans student, Micah Leroy, who celebrated getting top surgery on social media. Even though he’s over 18 and legally an adult,  his Instagram and Facebook accounts were deactivated claiming he violated the rules on “child sexual exploitation, abuse and nudity.”

Them: Zachary Willmore, a digital creator who’s known for documenting his life as an feminine gay man living with HIV,  was confronted by a man who appears to be drunk in a men’s room who says, “I don’t like a dude, a dude, with fuckin’ pearls on his eyes.” Willmore notes in the video that he used a stall in the restroom to avoid confrontation.

Reuters: Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Sunday urged Donald Trump to stop threatening to take over Greenland, after he reiterated his wish to do so in a recent interview with The Atlantic.

New York Times: A video of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro dancing to an electronic beat with the repeated phrase “no crazy wars” was apparently the last straw that pushed Trump to send a military team to storm Caracas and abduct Maduro. Team Trump saw the dance as Maduro ‘taunting’ him and gave the order.
