Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) defended Donald Trump’s feces video released over the weekend showing Trump flying a fighter jet wearing a king’s crown and dropping shit on Americans at No Kings rallies.
At a press conference, a reporter noted that Johnson had called the demonstrations “Hate America Rallies,” then pointed to Trump’s video of him pooping on the American people.
Johnson’s take was that Trump was “effective” at using “satire to make a point.”
Johnson’s response:
“The president used his social media to make a point. You can argue he’s probably the most effective person whose ever used social media for that. He is using satire to make a point — he is not calling for the murder of his political opponents and that’s what these people are doing.
“Look, America is built on the idea of free speech you have the right to protest, of course, we jealously guard that. But what they’re doing right now is different. They’re trying to incite violence — that’s not funny. You don’t mock a president who has already had two failed assassination attempts on his life. This is not a game.”
Note – there were zero calls for violence against Trump made during the No Kings protests.
Reporter: Speaker Johnson, you say that Democrats had a hate America rally, but what does it say that the president of released video of him pooping on the American people?

He’s referencing “the President hanging in effigy by a noose,” and I’m old enough to remember that NO Republicans called it out when their Tea Party did that on a regular basis to President Obama. pic.twitter.com/TxI6nRtxyB

I still don’t get what the “point” was that Trump was trying to make by portraying him as shitting on Americans.
Here’s the video again in case you missed it.
