Early this morning, Donald Trump claimed in a social media post that ‘THE BIDEN FBI’ had placed 274 agent among the crowd that assembled for his speech in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
“THE BIDEN FBI PLACED 274 AGENTS INTO THE CROWD ON JANUARY 6,” he wrote on Truth Social. “If this is so, which it is, a lot of very good people will be owed big apologies. What a SCAM – DO SOMETHING!!! President DJT”
Of course, Trump was president and in control of the federal government, and the director of the FBI was Christopher Wray, who Trump hand-picked.
Last month, Trump claimed on his social media that the FBI “secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.”
But Trump’s own FBI director, Kash Patel, has clarified that agents were only sent into the crowd after the riot touched off.
You have to wonder, though – is Trump saying his supporters only broke the law because other people around them egged them on? Are his supporters that weak-minded?
