The first trailer has been released for the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway hit musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Jennifer Lopez in the title role.
Director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Beauty and the Beast) helms the dazzling Technicolor-hued musical fantasy starring Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers, Out of Sight), Diego Luna (Andor, Y tu mamá también), and Tonatiuh (Carry On, Promised Land).
Official synopsis:
Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez).

Tonatiuh in “Kiss of the Spider Woman”The Broadway production (book by Terrence McNally, score by John Kander & Fred Ebb, direction by Harold Prince) was a triumph winning the 1993 Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score, as well as acting Tonys for all three principals in the cast – Chita Rivera, Brent Carver, and Anthony Crivello.
It’s also worth noting Vanessa Williams made a huge splash in her Broadway debut replacing Rivera.
The film is set for release on 10 October.
