What we know so far according to CNN:
• The shooter is identified as 28-year-old Sgt. Quornelius Radford (lead photo) from Jacksonville, Florida. He joined the Army in 2018 as an automated logistical specialist. An active-duty soldier assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team at Fort Stewart, he has no combat history.
• Two of the victims were taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, while three others were treated at an Army hospital. All are in stable condition and are expected to recover.
• The shooting occurred at Radford’s place of work and involved his co-workers.
• Radford allegedly got into a disagreement with one of the victims yesterday, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the case. He shot the first victim in the chest, then shot four others before being tackled by nearby soldiers.
• Radford reportedly used a personal handgun in the attack, and military investigators are trying to determine how he was able to bring a personal weapon onto the base.
• The suspect was arrested in May at a traffic stop for driving under the influence, which his chain of command did not know about. The mug shot above was from that arrest.
