Trump Blinks On Tariffs, Dow Jones Jumps 2000+ In Minutes

It was a wild ride on Wall Street today as Donald Trump announced he would pause some — but not all — of his sweeping tariffs.

(Dow Jones Industrial Average from 4/3/25-4/9/25)
Noting that  “people were jumping a little bit out of line,” Trump declared a 90-day reprieve on the reciprocal tariffs he had imposed on dozens of countries. “People were jumping a little bit out of line,” Trump told the press today. “They were getting a little bit yippy. They were getting a little bit afraid. Over the last few days it looked pretty glum.”

But just two days ago, Trump was asked if he would consider a pause on the tariffs and he quickly replied, “We’re not looking at that.”

Some folks have raised the question of possible “market manipulation” as just hours before announcing his “pause,” Trump specifically told his social media followers “This is a great time to buy!”

Who in the administration knew about Trump’s latest tariff flip flop ahead of time? Did anyone buy or sell stocks, and profit at the public’s expense? I’m writing to the White House — the public has a right to know.
