Some news items I thought worth your time: • JoeMyGod: Far-right Florida state Sen. Randy Fine (R) has filed a bill to ban local governments, public schools and state universities from displaying flags promoting LGBTQ rights and other “woke” topics. • LGBTQ Nation: The Senate voted 83-12 on Tuesday to advance the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which contains a provision banning gender-affirming care for the trans children of military members. • The Advocate: No, the 15-year-old school shooter in Wisconsin was not transgender. Out Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI), whose district includes Madison where the shooting took place, clapped back at right-wingers who tried to say the shooter was trans. 
• Science: A medical journal has retracted a 2020 paper that popularized hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 treatment. Scientists say the research contained major scientific flaws and may have breached ethics regulations. • New York Times: Donald J. Trump is suing The Des Moines Register over a pre-election poll that showed him trailing in Iowa. Even though he ended up winning the state in last month’s election, Trump is calling the poll “election interference.” • NBC OUT: Montana Rep. Zooey Zephyr, the first transgender woman elected to the state’s Legislature, married award-winning journalist and advocate Erin Reed in a ceremony in Missoula on Saturday.
