• NBC News: Special Counsel Jack Smith plans to close his investigation of Donald Trump and resign before Trump takes office as the Justice Department’s longstanding policy is that sitting presidents can’t be charged with crimes. • Cleveland.com: The Ohio Senate on Wednesday approved a ban on transgender students using bathrooms that fit their gender identities. Eleven states have adopted laws barring trans girls and women from girls’ and women’s bathrooms at public schools.
