Some news items you might have missed: • The Advocate: Continuing his penchant for 3rd grade nicknames for people he doesn’t like, Donald Trump has begun referring to out CNN anchor Anderson Cooper as “Allison” insinuating that gay men are women, and that being a woman is somehow degrading. • New Music: Out country music artist Patrick Masse honors fellow Canadian KD Lang with his stirring cover of her 1992 hit “Constant Craving.” • Washington Blade: Ireland’s parliament passed a sweeping hate crimes law amid a sharp uptick in violence against LGBTQ people. Surprisingly, the Emerald Isle didn’t have a hate crime law prior to this legislation’s passage. • NYCLU: A transgender woman in New York has settled a lawsuit with the Watertown Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department after she alleged abuse and harassment because of her gender identity.

• NPR: Over 200,000 subscribers cancelled their subscriptions to the Washington Post after owner Jeff Bezos spiked a planned endorsement of VP Kamala Harris for president. • Pink News: There’s a queer zombie horror thriller in the works titled Queens of the Dead, and the cast is full of LGBTQ actors including comedian Margaret Cho, Cheyenne Jackson, RuPaul’s Drag Race queen Nina West, and Dominique Jackson (Pose).
