Staffer Accused Of Filming Sex Video In Senate Hearing Room Fired

A Senate aide who has been accused of being one of two men captured in a brief video clip having sex in a Senate hearing room has been fired. The video came to light on Friday. The video was reportedly “shared in a private group for gay men in politics,” where it was then leaked to the Daily Caller. Maryland Democratic U.S. Senator Ben Cardin’s office released a statement to the New York Post saying the junior staffer had been fired. “Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate,” a spokesperson told the Post. “We will have no further comment on this personnel matter.” More from the NY Post:

Maese-Czeropski, a 24-year-old legislative aide, was accused of posting a video of himself in flagrante delicto with another man on a public X account. His face appeared to be clearly visible, according to The Spectator, which first broke the story Friday.

The roughly eight seconds of intercourse allegedly took place in the same room where nominees to the Supreme Court are grilled by senators and where former FBI boss James Comey once testified about alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Maese-Czeropski appeared to address the incident on his LinkedIn account without specifically denying the allegations, writing, “This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda.” It goes without saying that this was a stupid, stupid, stupid thing to do. This not only impacts Maese-Czeropski (who clearly has some stuff to work out), but reflects poorly on the entire gay community as the far-right takes their broad brush to paint all of us with the junior staffer’s idiotic actions. The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to The Advocate Friday that they are aware of the incident and are conducting an investigation.
